A manufacturer of printed resistors faces a challenge to create machine-scannable labels for automated assemblies. They couldn't print the "8" in the nearly microscopic part identifier in a way that the assembly machines could read it.

So what did they do?

They turned to SAATI Hi-Lo 165.24 Synthetic Mesh (420 t/inch), which retains the mechanical strength of 27 µm thread diameter mesh, yet has a significantly higher open area percentage - permitting more print precision with better ink coverage.
