The starch extraction and processing from agricultural commodities is a very important application of SAATI products.

In starch production, specific filtration stages involve the use of fabrics or meshes designed to separate solids from liquids.

In Coarse Filtration are commonly used coarse meshes or screens made of nylon or stainless steel;
In fine filtration are utilized fabrics such as fine mesh nylon or polyester filters;
In washing stages specialized filter fabrics (like non-woven or felt materials) may be used to help separate the washed starch from the washing liquid; in dehydration processes, mesh fabrics may also be employed in belt filters or rotary drum filters to separate moisture from the starch.
