The starch extraction and processing from agricultural commodities is a very important application of SAATI products. 

In starch production, specific filtration stages involve the use of fabrics or meshes designed to separate solids from liquids.

  • In Coarse Filtration are commonly used coarse meshes or screens made of nylon or stainless steel;
  • In fine filtration are utilized fabrics such as fine mesh nylon or polyester filters;
  • In washing stages specialized filter fabrics (like non-woven or felt materials) may be used to help separate the washed starch from the washing liquid; in dehydration processes, mesh fabrics may also be employed in belt filters or rotary drum filters to separate moisture from the starch.
